Smitri Gupta

I was born and raised in the city of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal (Agra, India). I am currently pursuing the final year of my bachelor's in chemical engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India. In the summer of 2011, I received an opportunity to undertake a research internship at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, which was funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Ich bin ein Gelehrter WISE 2011! This gave me an opportunity to interact with great minds, toward a fruitful research experience. I have developed a great interest for mass transfer.

This vital subject is the cornerstone of major inventions in the field of chemical engineering. Apart from my technical background, I have always had a keen interest in sports activities like swimming, badminton and table tennis. I was first drawn to AIChE by the challenge puzzles posted on it. To mention the least, I got my first puzzle right! I have also been an active spectator on the AIChE portal. It is my dream to pursue research in chemical engineering as it is a vast area which explains every basic nature of life. The expanse of knowledge gained will prove instrumental for my future growth and contribution to science.
