2021 Annual Meeting and Student Conference Will Take Place In-person and Virtually

As the world begins to open and we return to the life we knew before the pandemic, AIChE continues to adjust accordingly. We are pleased to announce our upcoming 2021 AIChE Annual Meeting and Annual Student Conference will take place in Boston at the John B. Hynes Convention Center, the Marriott Boston Copley Place, and Sheraton Boston, and for the first time ever, will also be hosted virtually for those unable to attend in person.

In-person and virtual conferences

Both meetings have been designed to bring the best of both the in-person and online formats to conference participants. The in-person Annual Meeting will be held November 7–11, with additional programming taking place virtually from November 15–19. The Annual Student Conference takes place in-person from November  5–8 and online from November 13–14.

Building the Bridge in 21st Century Education

This year’s theme “Building the Bridge in 21st Century Education: Chemical Engineering Industry + Academia” applies now more than ever. Our program includes a special discussion on new learning paradigms and will also encompass AIChE’s highest lectures presented by Arup Chakraborty (MIT), Eric Shaqfeh (Stanford) and David Schaffer (UC Berkeley),

Access to conference sessions

In-person sessions at both conferences will be recorded and made available for viewing on the virtual platform for all attendees. Registrants will have access to both formats and can choose which parts of the meeting they would like to attend. 700+ sessions are programmed by our divisions and forums and topical conferences, including the new program Material Interfaces as Energy Solutions.
