Thoughts & Support for Our Community Affected by Hurricane Harvey

I would like to express our concern and support for our members, their families, and all the people affected by Hurricane Harvey, on behalf of our AIChE community. We stand with Texas, Louisiana, and the surrounding regions in the upcoming days, weeks, and months ahead. With over 5,000 AIChE members potentially affected in these regions, we are a community of chemical engineers coming together and taking care of each other. Our leadership, staff, local sections and Fuels and Petrochemicals Division are pursuing ways to help your communities.

As it can be very difficult to communicate with each other during these times, we have set up a special community within AIChE Engage, our online discussion platform. Our hope is to facilitate a dialogue between those affected and those in our chemical engineering community who can help with requests for housing, food, supplies and office space and any other needs you may have. We would appreciate any additional ideas you may offer as to how we can help. Please use this Hurricane Harvey link to join in the discussion and share your thoughts and ideas and positive thoughts. Our South Texas section has volunteered to monitor the community postings and organize requests and questions.

Our hearts go out to all those affected by this storm and also to the first responders and volunteers who have been so brave and are doing all they can to help.

Please reach out to our Customer Service team for any AIChE support requests you may have.
