As part of a series of simulation workshops planned by the Saudi Young Professionals Committee (YPC) in 2016 and sponsored by AspenTech (Saudi YPC Platinum Sponsor), the Saudi YPC organized a technical workshop titled Sizing Pressure Safety Valves for Pressure Relief Analysis Scenarios on May 3, 2016.
During this workshop, AspenTech consultants explained process safety solutions available in Aspen HYSYS, which provides a process safety toolkit to help complete pressure relief analysis (PRA) projects, from adding and sizing of pressure relief devices to designing and/or rating flare networks. The instructor demonstrated the benefits of these integrated tools, together, for PRA projects throughout a plant or refinery.
The Saudi YPC issued a certificate of completion to 20 young professionals attending the workshop who represented some of the most respected companies and academic institutions in the region.
The next Saudi YPC workshop will be “Plant Design: Optimization and Feasibility Study Using Aspen Plus and Other Aspen Software.” The workshop is planned for September 2016.
The Saudi YPC is a future-focused and growth-fueling body, serving as a platform for young professionals in Saudi Arabia. To achieve its ambitious goals, the Saudi YPC has devised a program that consist of a number of technical events, dinner meetings with industrial speakers, field trips, and social mixers. All members who join the Saudi YPC area eligible to participate in these events. Members can also choose to take a voluntary leading position in one of the available Saudi YPC’s subcommittees. In addition, the committee continuously seeks the support of industrial partners to deliver its program. Such support yields fruitful, long-lasting relationships with mutual benefits customized to meet partners’ specific needs and requirements.
