Andreas Kramvis received the AGILE Award and delivered the AGILE keynote at the joint opening of the 2016 AIChE Spring Meeting and 12th Global Congress on Process Safety. The award is among AIChE's most prestigious and is given to individuals who exhibit overall sustained excellent industry leadership in businesses that employ chemical engineers, who are recognized for efforts in innovation and creating strategies that ensure success, and who can present a keynote of high value to meeting attendees and the members of the Institute.
Kramvis' keynote, titled "Transforming a Business for Success," addressed questions of business philosophy and corporate culture, among other aspects critical to creating a successful business. He spoke on the subject from a position of great experience, having made his mark at Honeywell by turning around two large businesses in succession. Stepping in as president of the failing Environmental and Combustion Controls (ECC) business, Andreas nearly doubled sales over six years while expanding margins, driving operational efficiencies and refilling the new product pipeline to transform his business into a technology leader.
