Dr. Adrian Bot, M.D., Ph.D. currently serves as Vice President of Translation Medicine at Kite Pharma, Inc. Dr. Bot served as a Vice President of Scientific Affairs at Kite Pharma, Inc. and served as its Chief Scientific officer. Dr. Bot has been Editor-in-Chief of International Reviews in Immunology of Mannkind Corp. Since September 2005 and serves as its Senior Director of Research and Development. Dr. Bot has been an Editor-in-Chief of International Reviews in Immunology at Taylor & Francis Group Plc since August 22, 2005. Dr. Bot joined MannKind in 2003 and served as Vice President of Research at MannKind Corp, where he led the efforts to discover and advance through development a number of immunotherapies and targeted therapies for different cancer indications. He served as Director of Immunology Research at AlleCure Corp., where he led the research and development of novel vaccine adjuvants and immunotherapies. His expertise lies in theoretical and experimental immunology, autoimmune disorders, viral immunity and cancer immunotherapy. Dr. Bot has authored or co-authored more than 45 peer-reviewed research articles, reviews and chapters, in basic and applied immunology. Dr. Bot holds patents and patent applications on DNA vaccines, micro particle-based technologies, immune therapeutic strategies and compositions. In addition, Dr. Bot is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Immunology and a reviewer for Vaccine, The Journal of Leukocyte Biology, Viral Immunology and Autoimmunity. Dr. Bot served as Guest Scientist at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla and a Scientist, Principal Scientist and Director of Immunology at Alliance Pharmaceutical Corporation in San Diego. Dr. Bot is on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Cancer Vaccine Consortium. He holds an M.D. at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timisoara - Romania and a Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbiology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
