In this episode of the Foundation’s Doing a World of Good podcast, you'll meet Tony Butterfield, Stephanie Farrell, and Gayle Gibson, three of our members spearheading an initiative focused on LGBTQ+ & Allies, a program that is designed to raise awareness, offer support, and create dialog for issues relevant to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer or Questioning individuals within our profession.

Tony Butterfield is an engineering professor at the University of Utah.

Stephanie Farrell is the Founding Chair of Experiential Engineering at Rowan University and the 2018-2019 President of The American Society for Engineering Education.

Gayle Gibson is the now retired former head of Engineering at DuPont.

In the podcast, Tony, Stephanie, and Gayle discuss the immediate and long-term goals of AIChE's LGBTQ+ initiative and members can get involved, how new expectations to advance inclusion will change definitions of leadership, and how this initiative will impact their students and mentees as they consider their own career choices in engineering.
