MW Type Multiposition Valve

The MW Type multiposition valves offer numerous flow configurations, port and fitting sizes, and actuation options. The preload design allows the rotor to be inspected or replaced without removing the valve from the actuator. If the valve is used with the firm’s complementary VICI microelectric actuator, alignment is always automatic. The valves are available with 4 –16 positions in five configurations ranging from simple stream selection to more complicated trapping functions. Standard valve-body material is stainless steel; optional materials include Hastelloy C-22 or Nitronic 50.

MX pumps Magnetic-Drive Pumps

Engineered to meet the most severe industrial applications, the MX pumps are said to be the first injectionmolded resin magnetic-drive pumps that use a split-volute casing forming a vortex chamber. The volute design limits the hydraulic loss in the casing, resulting in increased overall pump efficiencies. The MX pump is also designed for tough applications. MX front casings incorporate reinforcement ribs extending from the periphery of the casing to the suction nozzle, reducing potential for deflection of the front casing from piping misalignment.

Gearbox Refurbishing

Designed to keeps overall process costs at a minimum by eliminating frequent maintenance and costly downtime, this gearbox refurbishing program provides off-the-shelf, CEP August 2005 www.cepmagazine.org 19 refurbished gearboxes to quickly replace units that require frequent maintenance, experience excessive downtime or need replacement to improve efficiency. All refurbished gearboxes meet the same high quality standards as new Chemineer gearboxes and the quality of each is guaranteed.

Thin Liquid Gear Pumps

These thin liquid internal-gear pumps handle low-viscosity liquids with high efficiency, offering many advantages in applications normally associated with centrifugal pumps. The pumps are self-priming and capable of reversible flow direction, enabling the use of one pump instead of two for loading/unloading or line stripping. The pumps’ flow is directly proportional to input speed, allowing them to meter process liquids. They are available in iron, steel or stainless steel, with adjustable end clearances and idler gears of iron, non-galling 770 alloy or PPO composite.

TFC SR2 Spiral-nanofiltration (NF) Element Fluid System

The Fluid Systems TFC SR2 spiral-nanofiltration (NF) element significantly lowers operating costs for a wide variety of selective rejection applications, including water softening, lactose reduction, protein recovery, and antibiotic and enzyme concentration and recovery. The SR2 membrane is highly energy efficient and capable of producing more water per square meter of membrane surface area than competitive products. Hardness rejection is typically 95% and organic rejection exceeds 90% for organics with molecular weights in the range of 400–600 daltons.

High-Viscosity Valves

These custom-designed rotary valves have helped a manufacturer of DNA analysis instruments solve a seemingly intractable problem. The instrument, which uses very high viscosity fluids, needed inert valves with sufficient shear force to cut through the fluid, acting as shut-off valves. The solution was a 1-mm-bore custom-designed rotary valve with a stainless steel rotor for torsion strength, a Tefzel liner for chemical inertness, and a PEEK body for rigidity. The shape of the rotor was carefully profiled to give a clean cut through the fluid, ensuring an instant start/stop of the flow.

PowerFlow Pump

Designed for highly viscous, abrasive or corrosive applications, the PowerFlow pump outperforms alternative positive displacement pumps when handling adhesives and sealants, paints and coatings, paper starch, asphalts, polymers, resins, plastics, food products, pharmaceuticals, petroleum, as well as chemical and industrial waste. It delivers superior pumping performance, lower maintenance and longer life as a result of its hardened tool steel or hardened 17-4 PH stainless steel pumping elements.

SR2 Nanofiltration Membrane

The SR2 nanofiltration membrane significantly lowers operating costs for a wide variety of selective rejection applications, including water softening, lactose reduction, protein recovery, and antibiotic and enzyme concentration and recovery. Hardness rejection is typically 95% and organic rejection exceeds 90% for organics with molecular weight in the range of 400–600 daltons. The SR2 element softens incoming water and retains low-molecular-weight organics, while allowing monovalent salts to pass through the membrane.

ORV-100-LE Self-Cleaning Water Filter

The ORV-100-LE self-cleaning water filter uses less than 2 gal/backwash. It handles flows up to 25 gal/min on pipes from 3/4 in. to 1 in. Because the filter substantially reduces the volume of water required by a typical backwash, it offers a number of water supply and cost advantages. In particular, it reduces the amount of wastewater generated by the water filtration system, thereby cutting treatment costs for low-flow systems. Orival, Inc

Skid-Mounted Process Systems

Ranging from simple, laboratory benchscale to complex computer- controlled fully automated pilot-plant and mini-plants, these skid-mounted process systems are well-suited for applications involving: polymers, plastics and elastomers; petroleum refining and petrochemicals; and energy, food and pharmaceuticals. The manufacturer provides full turnkey service starting with concept, design and skid arrangement, transitioning through to the construction and control configuration phases. This results in minimal installation a trouble-free, quick start up.
