Traditional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) algorithms achieve convergence of all the momentum, energy, species and mass conservation equations in a 3-D model through iteration, which can be cumbersome and time-consuming. CHEMKIN-CFD, which is specifically designed to handle stiff gas-phase and gas-surface chemistry, employs a proprietary solver to speed up simulation without sacrificing accuracy.
