Closures and Stoppers

These closures and stoppers ensure aseptic fluid transfer, sealing, filling and sampling for containers used in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical processing. Manufactured from a platinum-cured silicone that is free of animal-derived ingredients, the closures meet USP (United States Pharmacopeial) Class VI and FDA standards — i.e., they are biologically safe and suitable for use in pharmaceutical, biomedical and laboratory environments.

Type 316 stainless steel collars and couplings

These Type 316 stainless steel collars and couplings are suitable for use in mixing equipment, drive systems, conveyors, and other machinery exposed to harsh chemicals, solvents and detergents. They feature one- and two-piece clamp-type and set-screw styles, and are offered with 18–8 stainless steel or Type 316 stainless steel fasteners. Collars available range in size from 0.25 in. to 10.0 in. i.d., and can be supplied with round, square or hexagonal bores — either smooth or threaded. Couplings come in sizes from 0.25 in. to 3 in. i.d. with straight and stepped bores and keyways.

FloMaster bin discharger

The FloMaster is a compact, totally enclosed, circular bin discharger that helps hoppers and silos process materials that are hard to control. Its rotating arch-breaker arm travels around the bottom of the hopper or silo to break any bridges of material that may have formed, ensuring material flow from the discharger to any of the manufac- turer’s single-stage or multi-stage units. The FloMaster is made of mild steel and can handle many different kinds of materials, from cocoa to wood flour, at a rate of up to 200 ton/h. Its two standard bin sizes are 32 in. and 40 in. dia.

HYFLO hydrofoil impellers

HYFLO hydrofoil impellers can be used to upgrade a mixer or agitator to provide a very high flow-to-power ratio. They can provide twice as much flow as a 45-deg. pitched-blade impeller for the same amount of power, or provide equal flow for half the power. They have an efficient, stable 4-blade design that features tapered blades with a narrow, low-pitched section at the tip where the speed is fastest and a wider, higher-pitched section near the hub where it is slower. Models range in size from 3 in. to 210 in.

Types A, B and BX fabricated hammer mills

Types A, B and BX fabricated hammer mills use a series of hammer or ring blows to crush, grind and pulverize materials. They are useful for size-reduction applications involving alum cake, gypsum, limestone, salt cake, wood, and bran. Type A up-running mills feature 2-stage dual mechanical reduction, whereby the revolving hammers shatter materials upon entry, then the reduced pieces are further disintegrated by contact against the breaker plates. Type B down-running, heavy-duty mills use heavy, reversible hammers with the manufacturer’s saw-tooth breaker plate to produce uniform product.

Model EDP-500 palletizer

The fully automatic Model EDP-500 palletizer transfers empty drums from a conveyor and stacks them onto a pallet. This air-over-electric system can handle 30- to 55-gal steel, fiber or plastic drums, placing them in a 4-, 5- or 6 drum pattern on a pallet. The system’s average load time is 4 drums per min. An automatic pallet dispenser discharges a waiting pallet. Vacuum cups lower and raise the drums, and an overhead gantry shuttles the load to the drop-off station, where it is lowered onto a waiting pallet.

Vibroscreen Ultra-Sanitary Double-Deck Screener

The Vibroscreen Ultra-Sanitary Double-Deck Screener for scalping, de-dusting and dewatering of contamination-sensitive materials meets cGMP, 3-A, USDA and FDA standards. The unit features gap-free screen frames, quick-release “U” clamps, radius corners, a domed lid, an Air-Lift device to raise the frames, continuous ground and polished welds, a gap-free and crevice-free interior and a washable underside.

Hammer Mill Model 141

The Hammer Mill Model 141 reduces friable and fibrous materials into uniform particle sizes ranging from 20 to 300 mesh. Centrifugal force causes pivoting hammers to stand at 90-deg to the rotating shaft, throwing material against breaker plate ridges in the feed section, and then against perforated bed screens through which sized material exits.

MS Screener

Specifically designed to screen fine products at high capacity, the MS Screener provides excellent screening performance due to equal feed distribution to all screen decks, uniform bed-depth across the entire screen surface and a reduction in screen blinding due to the use of durable declogging balls. The stacked, multiple-deck, tray access design allows for individual screen access without the need to remove all decks. A patented Lift-Rail system enables easy installation and removal of the screen frame.

Powder Transfer System (PTS)

Powdered products that are either hazardous or subject to contamination when exposed to the workplace environment can be transferred safely by a self-contained Powder Transfer System (PTS). Designed for such products as pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals and metal powders, the totally sealed pneumatic system requires no external filters or vents, allowing dust-free charging of powder directly into closed vessels, including those under vacuum or pressure.
