EPACO explosion detection and control system

EPACO is a sophisticated explosion detection and control system made up of five basic modules: explosion protection controller (EPC); power-supply unit (PSU); relay card (RC8); annunciator module (AM); and the Cerex detector. The system is pre-configured to recognize danger signs and make important decisions about when to activate Fike explosion-isolation and explosion-suppression systems to prevent an explosion from damaging equipment. EPACO can also alert users of what the problem was and when it happened.

Product Catalog

This company’s new full-color catalog offers information about its full line of pressure relief devices. Comprehensive descriptions and technical specifications are given for the firm’s rupture disks, rupture disk holders, sanitary products, rupture panels, single-use assemblies, alarms and sensors. Easy-to-read charts display burst pressure tolerance, panel-specification information, and temperature-limit data. New this year is information offered not only in psi, but also in barg.

Misting Booths

Providing one-way passage between a potentially contaminated processing room and a degowning area, this misting booth supplies a fine, low-volume “fog” to remove loose powder that may have adhered to protective garments, reducing exposure to hazardous particulates. An operator simply opens the door and steps into the misting booth, activating the owner-determined timed misting cycle. Water generated collects in the sump of the shower and is pumped to a drain or directed to a process floor drain.

Purifier Logic Class II Biosafety Cabinets

Purifier Logic Class II Biosafety Cabinets combine microprocessor control, instant feedback and rugged components withan ergonomic design. They provide personnel, product and environmental protection and are suitable for work with agents that require Biosafety Level 1, 2 or 3 containment. To keep users safe and alert to current conditions, they include an LCD information center located inside the cabinet at eye-level. Operating parameters are constantly displayed, including the remaining filter capacity (percent).

InspeCaps 150

InspeCaps 150 is a single-file vision inspection system for two-piece hard-gelatin capsules. It inspects up to 120,000 capsules per hour, verifying all visual characteristics and automatically removing defective capsules and foreign objects from the product stream. It can handle virtually every type of capsule, and achieves full 360-deg. inspection of capsules using a patent-pending process that captures simultaneous views with overlap.

ART plate reactor

The ART plate reactor handles a continuous flow of reactants to create a safer process. Its reaction volume is up to 99% less than that for batch processing. The reactor’s design incorporates features typical of a continuous chemical reactor with those of a plate heat exchanger. It can handle capacities ranging from 0.25 L/h to 1,000 L/h, covering all steps from laboratory-scale R&D to full-scale production.

S-5680BX SuperWrapper

The S-5680BX SuperWrapper can wrap protein-tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) blister-packs at a rate of 200 per minute. The unit creates reliable hermetic seals and minimizes unwarranted heat transfer. Its inverted film feed places the center-seal system above the product; if the machine stops for any reason, the sealer opens automatically and slides back to create an overlap upon restart, ensuring seal integrity.

Type 550 filling and stoppering machine and Type 551 crimping machine

The Type 550 machine achieves aseptic filling and stoppering of pharmaceutical vials. The Type 551 crimping machine can be used directly inline with the Type 550 or on its own as a stand-alone unit. Used together, the machines offer repeatable precision and can handle up to 600 vials per minute. Their balcony design is compliant with cGMP guidelines, and the complete separation of the drive from the filling area optimizes the laminar airflow throughout the stations.

Universal Seal (7800 Series)

With a modular cartridge design, the heavy-duty gas-lubricated Universal Seal (7800 Series) is ideal for use in a wide variety of mixing and agitating equipment, as well as other top-entry mixer applications. The Type 7800 uses modular hardware, allowing for maximum interchangeability and efficiency. This convertible format will support contacting dry, contacting wet, non-contacting or a combination of non-contacting and dry-contacting seal technology without the need to change any adaptive hardware. The patented grooved rotor allows equal lift in the presence of up to 0.125-in.

Stainless-steel hand tools

Stainless-steel hand tools are an efficient and cost-effective solution for maintaining sterility in the servicing of process equipment in a sterile environment. Stainless steel requires no plating, which can generate dangerous particulate, to maintain its corrosion resistance. In the event the surface is scratched or damaged, stainless steel forms a pure chromium oxide (a passive, non reactive) layer, protecting it against further corrosion without exposing ferrous surfaces that can contaminate a cleanroom environment.
