Water supplied from a Public Water Supply System (PWSS) and used for such purposes as fire fighting, street washing, and municipal parks, golf courses, and swimming pools. Public water use also includes system water losses (water lost to leakage) and brine water discharged from desalination facilities. Also referred to as Utility Water Use.
