Following his welcoming keynote for the 15th GCPS Welcome Plenary Session, Matthew C. Koenings sat down with AIChE Chief Development Officer Lisa Lanzkowsky to discuss some of the main themes of his talk, "The Upside of UPSLI: Ensuring a Safer Industry through Undergraduate Process Safety Education."
In particular, Koenings discusses in the video above the importance of creating a foundation of process safety culture at the undergraduate education level. He also speaks about his own involvement with weekend undergraduate student process safety bootcamps through his work with DuPont, and shares his advice for faculty members teaching process safety.
Matthew is the retired vice-president of operations and chief engineer for DuPont. He is also on the Center for Chemical Process Safety Advisory Board and AIChE Foundation Board.
