Multi-Scale Particulate Process Modelling and Design: Industry-Led Applications
Many industrial process applications involving particulate materials are currently designed, tested and field operated with the use of most sophisticated material characterisation techniques coupled with process design tools based on the use of advanced computational modelling. Gone are the days of "trial and error" and "heuristic" approaches starting with a handful of granules or powders heaped on a bench-top or emprical measurements based on relative indexing on a purely observational and empirical scale of powder behaviour. The presentations included in this session will aim to demonstrate the use of the most sophisticated characterisation and design tools available currently and how they are used successfully in industrial and academic R&D environments.
