Modeling of Pharmaceutical Unit Operations I

The application of mathematical modeling tools in pharmaceutical development has increased in recent years. These tools can enable process design, optimization and troubleshooting of processing problems. This session seeks contributions showcasing the development and implementation of first-principles as well as data-driven process modeling, simulation and optimization methods for unit operations involved in pharmaceutical drug product. Modeling approaches including CFD, DEM, FEM, PBM, Monte Carlo and other phenomenological methods are welcome.
