Multiple Dividing Wall Columns in a Refinery Complex

A major oil and gas company in South East Asia is implementing multiple Dividing Wall Column (DWC) configurations across several process schemes in its refineries to generate conventional products with an emphasis on better product specifications as well as energy reduction.

These DWC applications are spread out over a multitude of refinery applications. The presentation will show how DWCs can be incorporated in traditional isomerization and PX recovery to yield similar or better product specifications with an added bonus of capital and energy savings. Additionally, case studies will be presented which highlight the adaptability of DWCs in both stand-alone DWC applications such as naphtha splitter or reformate splitter configurations as well as in gas plants and complex process schemes involving multiple columns.
