"Conduct of Operations” is the CCPS Risk-Based Process Safety Element associated with the execution of operational and management tasks in a deliberate and structured manner; sometimes referred to as “Operating Discipline”. Operating Discipline institutionalizes the pursuit of excellence in the consistent performance of every task. Achieving the loss prevention objectives of process safety depends fundamentally on having a strong operating discipline. This session seeks papers on practical methods and tools demonstrated to improve operational discipline with the corollary improvement in process safety culture and performance. Several suggested topics include enhanced operating procedures, dynamic process control, use of simulators for training operators on abnormal event management, and visibility to status, or health, of independent protection layers, etc.
