(571d) CACHE Initiatives: Molecular Modeling

The molecular modeling initiative in CACHE began in 1995 as its first foray into computational-based chemical engineering education beyond process design, operations and control. Molecular modeling has now been firmly established as one of the core competencies of CACHE, with around one quarter of the Board of Trustees representing this effort. In this talk, we will review the activities of CACHE in the field of molecular modeling, which includes educational initiatives and the establishment of the successful Foundations of Molecular Modeling and Simulation (FOMMS) conference series (fomms.org) that has been held every three years, beginning in 2000.
