You, F. - Presenter, Cornell University
Quantum computing is attracting growing interest due to its unique capabilities and disruptive potential. This presentation will give a brief introduction on quantum computing and its potential applications to process systems optimization and process data analytics. We will introduce a number of new models and methods that exploit the strengths of quantum computing techniques to address the computational challenges of classically intractable problems. Applications include protein folding, job-shop scheduling, cell formation for manufacturing systems, supply chain optimization, integrated process control and scheduling, and fault diagnosis of chemical processes.
