A., The Dow Chemical Company Solving complex plant problems is an everyday exercise that affects all projects and budgets, and it is very rarely introduced to students at any level. In fact, by the time young engineers are few years into working in industry, most have lost the engineering skills that they developed in school. We hope to encourage future engineers to retain those skills and learn the importance of plant problem-solving. This workshop will introduce graduate and undergraduate students to plant problem-solving and its significance in the real world. Composed of two parts, a plant problem-solving crash course, paired with a real problem to be solved by attendees, the course will allow students to discover a potential career direction often not discussed. Attend this workshop to learn about the experiences and best practices of seasoned engineers in plant problem-solving and try your hand at solving a past problem faced at The Dow Chemical Company.
