Model-Based Engineering for Design

Models play a central role in science and engineering and advances in information technology and computing has resulted in a proliferation of computer-aided tools. Some sub-disciplines have generated an impressive park of tools that use models to solve complex problems. Many of these tools are associated with different types of design processes whilst others simply provide a vehicle to gain insight and ways to describe the operation and functioning of the modelled object. Progress has been large in many of these areas, in particular in subject that are not so strongly related to traditional engineering are beyond those that made most progress in this domain. Key though is the generation and maintenance of models as well as the sharing of models across different platforms, applications and disciplines. The session is meant to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of problems around the subject of model generation, model maintenance, model exchange. We cordially invite for a broad discussion of the disciplines ranging from energy, chemicals reaching over to medical and biological sciences.
