(222d) Membranes, Bulk Phase Interfaces and Separation Techniques

Membranes and bulk phase interfaces share a close relation in separations. The bulk phase interface may be a fluid-fluid, fluid-solid or solid-solid interface; it may be immobilized or mobile. In this presentation I will provide an overview of many new separation techniques that have been developed or are being developed based on a variety of concepts. The bulk phase interface plays an important role in such membrane or membrane-based separation techniques.
