In this presentation, a simple analytical model is presented which describes the intra-particle coating variability of a single particle by a uniform spray. For random orientation distributions, the expected coefficient of variation of film coat thickness asymptotes to zero as the number of coating trials increases. However, if the spray zone visits have preferential orientation, the limiting value of the coefficient of variation is non-zero. The analytical model is also compared to Monte Carlo simulations of a single particle subject to a coating spray.
