The deposition of SiC on nuclear fuel pellet through decomposition of methyltrichlorosilane (MTS) at high temperature has been under investigation. It has been found that about 45 species and 112 reactions are involved in gas-phase chemistry. For computational efficiency, the detailed chemistry has been implemented into ISAT (in-situ adaptive tabulation). The pairwise mixing stirred reactor (PMSR) model is selected to test the implementation. The performance of ISAT has been tested by changing the related parameters. The results from parameter study could provide important information in helping reduce the computational expense in CFD simulation of particle coating process in fluidized bed.
