Innovations in functional materials need to be made in parallel with the evolution of recent additive manufacturing processes to widen the application of next-generation additive manufacturing. Although additive manufacturing made a significant impact on mainstream research there still remains a great challenge in understanding relationships between manufacturing process and performance in 3D printed materials in various applications.
