Research Interests

My current research interest focuses solely on integrating large scale systems biology data and metabolic modeling to produce the next generation metabolic model. The main project of my PhD has been modeling diurnal growth of algae, but I also have experience with models of mammalian cells. I am looking for a position in industry that includes a strong emphasis on systems level analysis of biological process and has potential for leadership opportunities.

Candidate Summary

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in chemical and biological engineering at Colorado School of Mines and I expect to graduate in May 2022. I have extensive experience in the development and manipulation of metabolic models for a variety of different application areas, including algal biofuels and human health.

In this session, I’ll be presenting on several of my different research projects, including a pipeline for model construction, an automation script for LC/MS 13C MFA data processing, and a validated simulation of transient cellular behavior for both standalone and agent-based contexts. These topics have potential utility for any project that involves the manipulation of biological agents, such as the production of metabolites through naturally occurring or artificially added metabolic pathways.

My skills include programming, model construction, and computational biology. I have published manuscripts that involved BLAST, flux balance analysis, metabolic flux analysis, INCA, and model construction.
