2018 was a year of intense activity for the RAPID Manufacturing Institute marked by the achievement of key milestones such as executing and completing all agreements for projects awarded during RAPID's first call for projects (2017), receiving Governing Board approval for our Sustainability Plan and more. Our greatest accomplishment is that we have built - and continue to build - a strong and diverse community of members committed to sharing ideas and perspectives that advance our process intensification (PI) and modular processing efforts.

"Together, RAPID and its members are unlocking the power of PI and modular processing technologies to deliver energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost savings in the process industries," stated William Grieco, RAPID's CEO.

RAPID is a private-public partnership between the U.S. Department of Energy, AIChE, and RAPID's member organizations. RAPID's project portfolio now numbers 35 total and we are committing over $120 million in federal and member cost share funding to a diversified R&D and education project portfolio. Member projects are focused on areas that will prepare PI technologies for wide-scale adoption and commercialization. At the end of 2018, membership was at 75 members and climbing.
