The RAPID Manufacturing Institute will hold a problem-discovery brainstorming session on the afternoon of Monday, Aug. 12, 2019 at the Enterprise and Infrastructure Resilience Conference to identify the potential impact – both positive and negative – that modularization has on the resilience of the manufacturing enterprise (incl. infrastructure, security, sustainability, adaptability, resistance to shocks, etc.). The workshop will convene engineers and scientists from government, academia and industry along with other stakeholders to identify the challenges and benefits in deploying modular decentralized equipment. During the event, RAPID CTO Paul Yelvington will present an overview of the RAPID manufacturing institute and the institute’s roadmap, highlighting the gaps identified in deploying modular equipment in the chemical processing industries. This will be followed by focused interactive small group breakouts.
