After graduating from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) as an honours graduate in mechanical engineering, Kerin worked in engineering, operational and process safety roles across refining, chemical and oil and gas industries. Kerin a board member of the Australian National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA), a member of the Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center steering committee. She is a Fellow of IChemE and a Fellow of Engineers Australia. She was recognised by Engineers Australia with the John A Brodie Medal in 2015 and in 2018 received the Trevor Kletz Merit Award from the MKOPSC. Kerin also holds a diploma in OHS and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). She recently released a book of fun poetry on leadership called 'Let's talk about your leadership'. Kerin now leads the IChemE safety centre (ISC), an industry led consortium, whose objective is to advance process safety worldwide.
