With 27 years of experience in the refining industry, Tim Olsen has been with Emerson Automation Solutions for 19 years. In his current role as a refining consultant within the global refining industry solutions group, Tim supports Emerson’s technical and business strategy. Prior to Emerson, he spent eight years at UOP as a technical advisor for refinery startups around the world. Tim is an AIChE fellow, past chair for the AIChE fuels & petrochemicals division and was the 2014 AIChE spring meeting program chair. He is also a current member of the Chemical Engineering Operating Council and Center for Energy Initiatives advisory board, and has been nominated and selected to run for the AIChE board of directors in 2017. In addition, Tim is a member of the AFPM Operational Planning, Control & Automation Technologies Committee, and serves on the board of directors for Emerson’s Global Users Exchange.
