Stefanos Baratsas

I am a 3rd-year Ph.D. Candidate in the Chemical Engineering department at Texas A&M, working under the supervision of Professor Pistikopoulos. I have an extended professional background working for more than 7 years in shipping companies, with my last appointment as an LNG Ship Superintendent. I also have a diversified educational background with a BSc & MEng in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens as well as an MSc in Shipping, Trade, & Finance from Cass Business School in London. My current research focuses on the development of frameworks to forecast energy demands and prices using Big Data and Deep Learning techniques, as well as on the design and optimization of quantitative policy studies. I am also working on the development of a circular economy and sustainability toolbox for supply chain management, utilizing Systems Engineering, and Data Analytics tools in a multi-objective optimization environment.
