Shiyan Wang

I am a research associate in the chemical engineering department of Purdue University. My research solves important problems in both energy and biological systems by developing analytic methods (machine learning, population balances, cybernetic modeling and fluid mechanics). I am working with Prof. Sangtae Kim (National Academy of Engineering, Department Head) on particle technologies, and energy issues in reactors. I am working with Prof. Doraiswami Ramkrishna (NAE) and Prof Vivek Narsimhan to examine the stochastic systems, where I worked on COVID19 transmission modeling, epigenetics, and polymers. I currently have one funded NSF proposal as a co-PI. I have published 16 journal articles. I have been rewarded two federal funding of supercomputing and one book chapter. I am named as Early Career Researchers 2020 by AIP. I obtained my PhD degree from University of Notre Dame under the guidance of Prof. Arezoo Ardekani and I am a native of Chinese Mongolian.
