Dr. Shiang-Tai Lin is a full professor and chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Taiwan University. He received his B.S. degree in 1996 from the National Taiwan University and Ph.D. degree in 2000 from University of Delaware. Before joining the faculty of NTU in 2004, he worked at the California Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral scholar and research staff. Dr. Lin’s research focuses on the determination of thermophysical properties of materials from the combined use of statistical mechanical theory and computational chemistry. Specific examples include phase equilibria of fluids, equilibrium and kinetic properties of gas hydrates, efficiency of polymer photovoltaic. Dr. Lin is the receipt of the Young Faculty Award (2007) from the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Ta-You Wu Memorial Award (2010) from the National Science Council of Taiwan, and the Distinguish Professor Award for Academic and Research (2011) from the Bowei Lee Education Foundation.
