Sharu Bhagavathi Kandy

Sharu Bhagavathi Kandy is a postdoctoral fellow in the Laboratory for the Chemistry of Construction Materials (LC2), University of California Los Angeles. Sharu received his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from IITB-Monash Research Academy (2018). Sharu’s research interests include additive manufacturing using cementitious materials, rheology control of printing slurries, rheology of complex fluids and reactive systems, CO2 Mineralization, and 2D nanomaterials and CNTs. His current research project focuses on additive manufacturing of architected structural components. His current research team at UCLA, led by Prof. Gaurav Sant works on rheology control of printing slurries, developing designer compositions for stimuli-responsive printing slurries, and design of 3D-printable alternative cement allowing CO2 uptake.
