Name: Seung-Hyun Baek I was born and raised in Gyeonggi province in South Korea. I graduated from Seoul City University with a degree in Chemical engineering in 1990. I started work as a shift engineer in ethylene unit at the Yeosu plant of Daelim Industrial Company. In 1992, I participated in the butadiene plant construction project and initial startup including commissioning. I worked in process engineer in technical and planning department at Daelim Industrial Company for 3 years. In 1999, I got the professional engineer certification for chemical industry. In 2000, I started as a safety engineer and the SHE team leader at the KRCC, Chevron Phillips & Daelim JV Company. In 2007, I got Master of Safety Engineering from Seoul national university of science & technology. In 2017, I got Doctor of Chemical Process Safety Engineering from Chonnam national university.
