Dr. Santosh Gangwal is a senior chemical engineer and presently the Director of Business Development for advanced energy technologies at Southern Research Institute. These technologies include coal and biomass to transportation fuel and power, solar thermal and photovoltaic, and waste to energy conversion, waste heat utilization, and energy storage. He received a PhD in chemical engineering from University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in 1977. He has over 36 years of experience in coal/biomass gasification/pyrolysis/liquefaction, syngas conditioning/conversion, fuel desulfurization, gas-solid reactions, heterogeneous catalysis, combined]cycle power systems, fuel cell processors, and carbon capture. He has published 13 patents and over 175 peer reviewed publications and conference proceedings.
