Sabine Hallamasek

Sabine Hallamasek is a 3rd year PhD student at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Cambridge, where she works in the Sustainable Reaction Engineering (SRE) group under the supervision of Professor Alexei Lapkin. Her research focusses on predictive life cycle impact assessment for chemical processes at the early design stage, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry. Sabine recently carried out an in-depth LCA study on a new process for the manufacture of paracetamol from bio-waste beta pinene, and is currently interested in the development of LCI prediction tools to support the screening of alternative process options at the early design stage and aid environmental process optimisation. Sabine previously earned her BA Hons (Cantab) and MEng degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge (2018).
