Dr. Russell Ogle is a Principal Engineer in Exponent’s Thermal Sciences practice. Dr. Ogle applies his expertise as a chemical engineer to the scientific investigation and prevention of accidents, with particular emphasis on fires, explosions, and chemical releases. He has provided hazard and risk analysis services to the chemical, petroleum, natural gas, pharmaceutical, and environmental industries. He is especially interested in the relationship between equipment design, automation, and human error. He received his B.S in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Iowa. He has over 25 years of industrial experience. Dr. Ogle is a licensed professional engineer and a certified safety professional.
