Nandkishor (Nandu) Nere

Nandkishor (Nandu) Nere is a Global Head of R&D Process Engineering at AbbVie, which is responsible for discovering and developing drug substance and drug product manufacturing processes for AbbVie’s R&D pipeline molecules spanning NCEs, ADCs, NBEs and novel modalities. He established AbbVie wide Cross-Functional Modeling forum (CMF) to provide modeling-based process solutions for pipeline and commercial assets. Amongst various awards, he was a recipient of 18th Chicago Innovation Award and 2023 ACS Heroes of Chemistry Award in addition to AbbVie’s Outstanding Research Team and multiple AbbVie R&D President’s awards for his innovative contributions to process development and predictive modeling resulting into commercialization of multiple new drugs for unmet patients’ needs. He continues his passion for practical Chemical Engineering Education and research as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He has co-authored 65+ research publications/book chapters and delivered numerous invited seminars and plenary lectures.
