Jia has been with the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore since 2013 and the Associate Chair (Students) since 2017. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Prior to that, she received both her B.Eng and M.Eng degrees in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Her current research interests are in multi-phase flow and fluid mechanics, with a key focus in membrane process technology. Her research has been recognized by various awards, including the AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) Particle Technology Forum (PTF) Best Ph.D. Dissertation Award in 2013, the Singapore Youth Award in 2015 and the AIChE PTF Sabic Young Professional Award in 2017.
