Huda Usman

Ms. Usman is a final year Ph.D. student at the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). She started her very first research experience as an REU-Scholar at Microbiointerface lab led by Dr. Niepa when she was a rising Junior at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Her training has exposed her to a wide range of research opportunities and specializations. In the future, she wants to lead the field of infection control by innovating technologies to promote the growth of beneficial microbes and control the deleterious impact of pathogenic cells.
