Hawley Helmbrecht

Hawley Helmbrecht is a 4th year Ph.D. candidate in the Disease Directed Engineering Lab under PI: Elizabeth Nance in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Washington. Additionally, Hawley completed a one-year traineeship with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's Data Science Training Program from August 2020 to August 2021. She also completed the Advanced Data Science Option through the University of Washington's Science institute in Summer 2021. Hawley's research is focused in three areas (1) Developing high throughput data science pipelines to analyze cell morphology in fluorescent neural images (2) Building robust nanoformulation-brain databases for enhancing biologist insight and (3) developing data science curriculum for research trainees.
