Elijah is a postdoctoral fellow at Argonne National Laboratory and is currently searching for a faculty position in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2005 under the guidance of Uwe Kortshagen. Part of his research at UMN was patented and licensed. In 2009, he received his PhD in Energy, Environmental and Chemical Engineering from Washington University under the supervision of Pratim Biswas. For his research, he was awarded 1st place in the AWMA dissertation competition and also won the outstanding dissertation award from ASEEP. Following completion of his PhD he moved to EPFL in Switzerland to work on photoelectrochemical water splitting with Michael Graetzel, where his work lead to conceptual innovations and major performance breakthroughs published in high impact journals. Elijah currently researches advanced processing and design concepts for nanostructured inorganic PV at Argonne National Laboratory.
