Dibakar Bhattacharyya

Prof Dibakar Bhattacharyya (DB) is the University of Kentucky Alumni Chair Professor of Chemical Engineering, Senior Visiting Scientist at Sepro Membranes, and a Board Member of the North American Membrane Society. He has over 30 years of experience in membranes, and water treatment field. He has worked with RO, NF, UF, and in the last 12 years he pioneered the development functionalized and responsive membranes for high value applications. Recently, by working with Sepro he and his associates have made both pore-functionalized and positively-charged NF membranes in full-scale. He has further integrated the functionalized membranes with catalyst and nanoparticles for green chemical synthesis or for pollutant detoxification. He has published over 200 articles, and has 8 (3 full utility patents filed in 2012) U.S. Patents in functionalized membranes and in water detoxification areas.
