Bernard Dems

Bernie Dems joined The Dow Chemical Company R&D organization in 1990. Over the next 27 years at Dow, he made major contributions in the process development, scale-up and improvements in the areas of Styrenic Block Copolymers, Chlorinated Polyethylene Elastomers, Solution Polyethylene Elastomers and Adhesives, Styrene-Ethylene Interpolymers and a novel elastic fiber spinning process for the textiles & apparel industry. He was named a Dow Research Fellow in 2007 and Associate Director, Core R&D Materials Science & Engineering in 2010.  In 2015, he became Global Director of Development Engineering for the Dow Lithographic Materials business, located in Marlborough, MA, and in 2018 was named Global Leader, Engineering Science, for Dupont Semiconductor Technologies Group.  Bernie currently serves as Global Leader, Leveraged R&D and Emerging Technologies within Dupont.  Bernie holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
