Utility: Cement-free concrete placement breaks record

Utility owner/operator National Grid said contractor Hochtief-Murphy Joint Venture pulled off what the utility claims is a record continuous placement of cement-free concrete as part of the London Power Tunnels project. Producing the concrete generates 64% fewer carbon emissions than traditional concrete, saving an estimated 111 kg of CO2 per cubic meter poured.
