Research: Nanoparticles aid corneal transplant medication

A new approach for administering medication after corneal transplants could improve the procedure's success rate by eliminating the need for patients to apply frequent eyedrops, according to Virginia Commonwealth University researchers. The technique, which uses nanoparticles to encapsulate dexamethasone sodium phosphate, requires only one injection after the transplantation surgery, researchers say.
