Project to build biorefineries using grasses, biomass

Munster Technological University will spearhead the "Rural BioReFarmeries" project backed by $9.4 million in funding from the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking. Their goal is to establish two decentralized green biorefineries in Ireland and Denmark, where they will demonstrate the conversion of local grasses and biomass into valuable products, such as proteins and energy, leveraging anaerobic digestion.
