The world came together to quickly stop the spread of the coronavirus, and the same sense of urgency should be applied to tackling plastic waste, said Max Delferro of the Argonne National Laboratory. Argonne is leaning into partnerships, such as plastics-to-lubricants work with Chevron Phillips Chemical, to develop new polymers that can be recycled or degrade more easily, said Delferro.
