The Gregory N. Stephanopoulos Award for Metabolic Engineering

To honor the pioneering contributions of Gregory N. Stephanopoulos for quantitative analysis and design of metabolism in the field of Metabolic Engineering the International Metabolic Engineering Society (IMES) has established the Stephanopoulos Award in Metabolic Engineering. The Award is to be given every second year to a prominent scientist or engineer who has made seminal contributions to the industrial translation of basic developments in metabolic engineering, or quantitative analysis, design and modeling of metabolism. The Award will be given at the bi-annual Metabolic Engineering conference organized by IMES.

Award

The International Metabolic Engineering Society at its bi-annual conference gives the Award. For each conference, an award of $5000 cash and a commemorative plaque or etched crystal will be presented from the International Metabolic Engineering Society.  The award for 2023 will be presented to the award recipient at the Metabolic Engineering 15 conference in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Nomination Instructions

The Stephanopoulos Award for Metabolic Engineering is open to all researchers in the field.  It is expected that the award recipient will register and attend the conference, and present an acceptance lecture.

Nomination packages will be evaluated by the award selection committee.
